I swiped it frommollywobbles867 , she got it from some one else, who got it from who knows where.

*I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

*I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.

*I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

*I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

*We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

*I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.

*I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.

*I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.

*I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

*We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

*I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

*I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

*I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

*I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

*I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

*I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

*I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

*I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.

*I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

*I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

Re-post this if you believe homophobia/transphobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.

Intro....hmmmm...I am 35 (yikes) I have two kids. Very few friends on LJ but I thought I would do this anyway. Like everything else I do on here, I stole it from my sis mollywobbles867 .
I grew up on the outskirts of Chattanooga, TN, and still live on the outskirts, only in the opposite direction. I am an Assistant Manager for a fast food restaurant. I started college immediately after high school, but dropped out after I met and married my husband. I have two kids ages 14 and 12. My husband and I will celebrate our 15th anniversary on Dec. 19th. I am a Harry Potter nut, like Molly, only I read a LOT of fanfiction. I don't watch a lot of TV, spend most of my time reading fanfic, on my FB page or at work.

What's the first major news event that you remember hearing about as a child? Where did you learn about it? How did it impact your world view?

I am sure there were more before this but the only one that I can recall where I was and what I was doing at the time was the Challenger explosion. I was in fifth grade at the time and I remember my teacher Ms. Dowd, had gone to get a tv so we could watch it and it seemed to take forever for her to get back. We were evidently late getting the TV, so when she did come back with it, she had a black armband over her shirt. We asked what had happened and when she told us, I think the room went totally silent for about thirty seconds. We spent the rest of the day watching news reports with other classes trying to make sense of it all.

Wow. It's been awhile since I wrote anything here. I've been doing nothing but work lately. It gets tedious sometimes, especially when ppl quit with no notice and you go from 30 hrs one week to almost 40 the next.

I was looking at Dakota the other day and realized he and Brandon are growing up way too fast. Dakota was telling me that he has more visible facial hair than a boy almost 2 yrs older than him. He has this really thin mustache that makes him look like a little man. I can't believe he will be 14 in a few months! *sigh*

Work is busier than ever. In the past couple of weeks we have done more on the weekends than any individual day in the almost 7 months I have been there. It is unreal how busy we have been lately. And the $5 foot-long sale is over. Pushing our breakfast menu now, which has changed lately. We now serve hash-browns. Of course, it would help if they sent the proper equipment for the darn things. We also serve light wheat English Muffins. They look yummy.

Gah. I am tired. Had to go into work tonight (my night off) to help out the girl that was closing. She was so busy, if I hadn't gone in, it would have been after midnight before she got out of there. As it was, what was intended to be 20-30 minutes of help for her turned into over an hour. Still didn't get out of there till after 11 (we close at 10) and it is only suppose to take 30 minutes to shut down. However, when you can't do your pre-close stuff till after close, it really messes stuff up.

Argh. For the past three weeks, I have worked 40+ hours at a job where I was told when I first started I would be lucky to get 8. I haven't worked that few hours since I started on my birthday in September. The fact that the only employees in my store are myself and the manager doesn't help. We have some help from other stores, but not much. I wasn't suppose to go in today until 5 but I got a call from my boss and the girl that was scheduled for mid-shift today, called out sick so I have to be there at 2. That will put me at around 44 hours for the week. I work for Subway! GAH!!! I am worn out. *sigh*

I'm not a big fan of science fiction anything. However, in 1983, there was a mini-series on TV called V. I watched it and absolutely LOVED it. Of course, I was all of eight years old at the time. I went to see a movie a couple of weeks ago and found out that they were remaking it via a preview during the time before the movie previews started,. I watched it tonight. OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!! YAY! I have a new show to watch every week. Something that isn't CSI...lol

As I sit and listen to the President's speech from the Pentagon, I am reminded of what I was doing that day.

Dakota started school that August, and that day I had only been home from dropping him off for about an hour when a friend of mine from Australia that I was chatting with on-line said "a plane just hit the World Trade Center". Bryan was watching some weird show about UFO's and I made him change it to CNN. We had no sooner turned it over than the second plane hit. I was in shock. I called my dad, he didn't know what had happened. I think he was outside working in the yard or something that morning. A lot of businesses were closing up for the day because of fear so I called my boss and made sure we were going to be open. He didn't even know what had happened. By the time I got to work that evening, they had a TV set up on the front counter (I was working at Steak -N- Shake) and we did very little business. I think we served a total of 20 people in the 8 hours I worked that day. For the next several days, I don't think I watched anything but news. It drove Bryan nuts.

Like my mom and dad when Kennedy was killed, and my grandparents the day Pearl Harbor was attacked, September 11, 2001, will be a day I will never forget what I was doing when I heard the news.
